Capy Crew is back and this time we ventured into one of KL’s most beloved green lungs, Bukit Kiara. Tucked between TTDI and Mont Kiara, this urban jungle is a sanctuary for trail runners, mountain bikers, and casual hikers alike. We've done this hike a few times and it never fails to remind us of its awesome-ness!
How to get there
Bukit Kiara has multiple entrances, but we used the main one via Taman Lembah Kiara park in TTDI. There’s limited parking at the entrance and by the roadside, and if you’re coming by public transport, TTDI MRT station is about a 20-minute walk away.

The hike
We kicked off just around 9am, stepping into a canopy of tall trees and cool morning air. The trail began with a gentle incline along a paved path before veering off into shaded dirt tracks lined with ferns, bamboo, and the occasional monkey chatter overhead.

Bukit Kiara’s beauty lies in its mix of terrain. We passed wooden bridges, rolling slopes, and winding forest paths that made it feel like a true escape from the city, despite being right in its heart.

While the elevation was modest, the narrow and root-filled trails gave us just enough of a workout to earn our brunch. Bonus: there were plenty of rest stops, forks and a humble waterfall in the trail, so we could adapt the route as we went.
Post-Hike Recharge
After close to 2 hours of hiking, we wrapped up the trail just in time for brunch. TTDI has no shortage of cosy cafés and we ended up at Aperture for some scrumptious regional cuisine.

Final Thoughts
Bukit Kiara is a local favorite and a must-try for any avid hiker in KL. With a variety of trails, diverse terrain, and rewarding views, it’s no surprise this spot is one of Capy Crew’s top picks.
